The Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, an autonomous grant-in-aid institute of the Department of Automic Energy, Govt. of India as a major comprehensive cancer centre invites applications from Indian Nationals and outstanding professionals and clinical scientists for the following faculty positions in the Tata Memorial Hospital in accordance with our objectives of patient service of the highest standards, clinical research and training.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

For Sr. No. 1 : M.Ch. or equivalent post graduate degree with minimum 3 years experience after Post Graduation or M.S. or equivalent post graduate degree recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 3 years experience as Senior Resident or equivalent Academic Dept. of Surgical Oncology. Experience in relevant speciality (Thoracic / Breast) will be given preference.
For Sr. No. 2 : D.M. or equivalent post graduate degree recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 3 years experience in the relevant speciality as Senior Resident or equivalent. Experience in Adult / Bone Marrow Transplant / Paediatric Oncology will be given preference.
For Sr. No. 3 & 4 : M.D. or equivalent post graduate degree recognised by medical Council of India with minimum 3 years experience as Senior Resident or equivalent.
For Sr. No. 5 : M.D. (Pathology) or equivalent post graduate degree recognised by Medical Council of India with Minimum 3 years experience as Senior Resident or equivalent. Experience in general dentistry and / or advanced Maxillo Facial Prosthetic work would be desirable.
Candidate with appropriate experience in major teaching and speciality Hospitals, with training as clinical scientist and interest in teaching will be given preference. Appointed Staff members would also expected to participate actively in all programmes in the Advanced Centre for treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) recently commissioned at New Mumbai by the Tata Memorial Centre.

SCALE OF PAY	: Rs. 14300 - 400 - 18300 + NPA
	: Rs. 12000 - 375 - 16500 + NPA
	: Rs. 10000 - 325 - 15200 + NPA

In addition to pay, other allowances as admissible under Central Govt. Rules will be applicable.

    On the recommendation of the Selection Committee, candidates will be offered an appropriate grade depending on the qualifications, experience, performance in the interview and needs in respective Dept. Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientific Officer (Medical) in the appropriate scale of pay with academic designation as per norms. The organisation has also an option to appoint on contract basis for a fixed term on consolidated salary. Department candidates will be considered for the higher grade only in cases of exceptional and proven merit.
    Appointed candidates may be placed as per needs of the Departments in the Tata Memorial Hospital and / or ACTREC site as and when necessary.
UPPER AGE LIMIT: 40 years, Age will be reckoned as on 30.11.2003. Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. Age may be relaxable in case of exceptional merit and qualifications and for Departmental candidates.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Application should be sent along with non refundable Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque for Rs. 100/- (Rs. 25/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Tata Memorial Centre, Parel, Mumbai - 400 012.
    Out Station candidates called for interview will be reimbursed train fare not exceeding first class / AC-III Tier railway fare from their normal place of residence in India and back on production of tickets / evidence indicating class of journey.
    It will be mandatory to produce documentary evidence (e.g. Certificate from Dean of your Institution or Supplementary PG registration certificate from the State MCI branch) of post graduate degree recognized by the Medical Council of India at the time of interview, if not furnished earlier.
    Typewritten Application superscribing the post applied for on the cover alongwith attested copies of all certificates should be forwarded to the H.R.D. Officer, Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai - 400 012 so as to reach him on or before 28.11.2003. Persons working under Central / State Government / Autonomous Body / Semi Government Organization and other Public Sector Undertakings should submit their application through channel.
    Names of three Referees to be given by the candidates should be closely linked to training and experienced gained by candidate applying for the same.
